About Me

Thought I'd take some time to fill this out since some people keep asking the same questions so here's a little info on me and how 'KH' came about.

[The Making of Karabloom]

I guess it all started when Kara first debuted with 'Break it' and the thing that caught my eye right away were the members ... Gyuri and Sunghee in particular. Now at the time I was also taking classes for Website Development and our final assignment was to create a website. I was stumped on what to base my site on and it hit me ... why not make one for Kara? I went old school and hand coded everything (I hate dreamweaver) and within a week, it was completed. I showed my work to a couple of fellow Kara fans via 'Soompi' and after some encouragement ... decided to make it 'live' and on July 2007, Karabloom.net was born.

It was hard at first because I had no idea on how to run a fansite ... especially one with Korean artists which would mean getting translators and all other kinds of staff. Our only competition at the time (Kara-Online) overshadowed us in everything content wise except for one thing ... video downloads. For the first couple of months, I did everything myself by posting these videos for download which got a lot of attention since I almost had every Kara related video available. Then I eventually found some translators to help with news updates and such. This went on for a couple more months and still pretty much ran the site independently until I got an email from 'Minjoo' one of our iTee Admins.

She offered to help build a forum which I strictly didn't want at first cause I knew it would be hard work in terms of keeping it updated and having the forum controlled by staff. I gave her a chance and went with the idea anyways then finally had a running forum (still under Karabloom.net). We kept the forum running for a while even with the little success it had. After about a year of running KB, our only competition, Kara-Online had decided to call it quits and their founder (April) wanted to merge our 2 sites together.

[A revolution, Karaholic]

The decision was a no-brainer since we were in a bit of a struggle to get noticed plus the the fact that they had 'Pim' working for them whom I personally wanted as my GFX designer (she's awesome!). We officially closed Karabloom.net, decided to scrap the idea of a fansite and instead run a full-fledged forum and on September 2008, Karaholic forums was born.

The forum has undergone many changes and I honestly can't take any credit for what it has become now. I'm thankful for all the staff that's helped run the forum and helped it grow.
