About Me

I picked this name more or less cause I tried to find a word with "kara" in it, and thought it'd be a clever idea to make a pun out of it.

That being said, I am a hardcore Kara 4 fan. As much as I like their personalities, it's really hard for me to cheer for Kara 5 with regards to music. The main reason for this, of course, is that the post-Sunghee image change is the worst thing to ever happen to (what I came to know as) Kara. To me, going to a cute image in order to skyrocket to superstardom will always be selling out. And Kara, after the departure of Sunghee, did just that.

Another thing that disturbs me greatly is how DSP Entertainment is trying to eradicate Kara's pre-Rock U history. On TV shows, the only "history" that MCs ever know or mention is "Rock U" and maybe some mention of GyulHamCole being in the music industry "before that". During Kara-only events, the only four songs ever performed are "Rock U", "Pretty Girl", "Honey" and "I am". It's as if somehow, they magically forget the greatest Kara trilogy of all time: "Break It", "If U Wanna" and "Secret World" In her last appearance with SSGB, even Seungyeon only ever mentioned that she was in the industry "before Rock U". Is it so hard to mention the words "Break It", or are we pretending it never happened?

If DSP wanted fans to forget how good Kara used to be, they're doing an awfully good job of it because a very high percentage of new Kamilia never bother to see Kara's 2007 work. All they ever praise about Kara is how cute they and their songs are. This revisionist approach that DSP is adopting is outright distressing, and has to stop.

Memorable quotes from people on this forum:

"except you talked about girl group images and how they were too sexy or too cute and usually guys like really... sexy-image people so i assumed you were a girl D: i think you're the first guy i've talked to that hasn't been like, "OMG SUPER SEXY FTW.""
