  1. Seems like YoungJi is well-liked in Japan and she is being promoted in the Japanese MV with more exposure time than in the Korean MV. Her blouse is multi-coloured as compared to the rest. She gets to be the last one to end the MV preview.

With this latest song and choreography, KARA has another top hit in Japan and YoungJi will steal the show with her freshness and youthful beauty as many Japanese fans are curious and want to know more about her.

In the Japanese MV at 1:17 onwards, her black skin-tight pants accentuates her long legs and curves and when she undulates her S-line, IMHO, she puts HARA who is next to her in the pale. No offence to Hara's bias fans. Maybe it's the black coloured pants and her tighter blouse instead of Hara's red coloured pants and black loose blouse. But YoungJi's figure seems longer and fuller.

This dance step is more alluring than the exciting Korean version. All I can say is WOW !

  2. This has been an intense and suspenseful ride but Kara Project has ended. Without the difference in opinions and helpful information, it would have been less interesting. For many who are disappointed, we can still look follow up on our favourites via DSP Trainees. Please let's not hate or pass disparaging remarks on YoungJi anymore. As Kamilia, we support and look forward to KARA's successful comeback. If you don't, you are wasting your time here in this KARA fandom.

  3. Did you notice that YoungJi wore the lower arm netting, reminscent of a ninja or of Japanese origin.

She first wore it at Everland and while performing STEP, it came loose and it disturbed the other members in the performance.

Like a professional, she continued dancing. I thought DSP would have discontinued that fashion piece. But then in KARA showcase, she wore it again.

And now in the 6th episode, she wore a red one.

I believe DSP wanted her for the Japan market, seeing she got the most votes there and Japan is DSP's biggest customer.

The Global Votes is an indicator. At the end of the day, popularity sells the merchandise and not expert opinion.

I think KARA also voted for her because she looks like JiYoung and she has a follower mentality and a maknae in their midst and not a leader like SoJin. The latter may have her own ideas about certain issues. In all fairness to YoungJi, she worked very hard and we did not get to see her final performance. Perhaps it was the deal clincher.

SoMin received full marks from KARA. Is she perhaps a second member favored by KARA3? Did KARA wanted 2 members? (YoungJi also had high marks from KARA.)

I'm sad that SoJin or SoMin did not make it as the 2nd member. What is DSP thinking?

  4. I can't wait to see a Reality Show of how the new member(s) get along in KARA. As the maknae, she has to do everything the seniors tell her. She can behave childishly with aegyo. She will cry from the pressure. She may even feel like quitting. They will screen her funny mistakes and silly behaviour, her joy and laughter. And certainly include behind the scenes and live KARA performances. None of the self-cam. Use a pro or cctv cam to do it. It's like watching a sitcom or like the show Roommate. We have not seen how the successful KARA members actually live. It was many years ago when they still live together in dormitories and were young and fresh. I sound like a pervert but I think everyone will find it fascinating and addictive. URAKARA helped push KARA's popularity in Japan. We fans will get to see more of our KARA. An international community will come to know them better through this. Don't forget the all important English subtitles, DSP.

  5. YoungJi is really funny in the latest diary 4-2.

She teaches the viewer how to prepare the food and eat it like an expert.

She stuffed everything bravely and proudly into her mouth.

And then almost choke from laughing.

    What a riot she is.

I think she is perhaps the best member in BK for variety shows where people will laugh at her antics and be amused by her natural expressive face and 'silly' behaviour.

I'm wondering if new members will be in Kara's upcoming Japanese single in August..?

I've read in other forum that new members will not joining kara until next year or so, I don't know which one is true.. time will heal and time will tell :)

I think KARA5 will start promoting in Japan very quickly.

Their national favourite girl band AKB48 has a televised voting system and they are used to the introduction of new band member in this way. The recent favourable response in Japan indicates that they welcome new members into KARA and their hot favourites are YoungJi and SoJin, judging from the voting results at the Tama Plaza and outside the KARA fanmeeting venue.

Baby Karas (BK) have proven that they can sing and dance as a group in a week's time. Of course, learning a new song in Japanese and a new dance without the benefit of watching a video, and coordinating with AWESOME Kara sunbaenims will require a longer time.

Once the Korean market has seen that the Japan market is still crazy for the new KARA which I believe will be the case as proven by their marketing expertise, those Korean KARA fans resisting the member change should turn around to accept the new members since they still strongly support the KARA3. The success of the new KARA and Japan market's response is very crucial to swing the change in their attitudes.

BK must surely be facing high mental and physical stress.  BK has to learn a new dance routine and song in one week. It is a short 6 weeks project that also includes live performances even in Japan and also 5th round elimination. Look at poor YoungJi. Her recent appearance at the showcase revealed her gaunt cheeks just after 2 weeks (from the Tama Plaza video to the Showcase video). I hope her health will not deteriorate and that DSP will give top priority to BK members' well-being. YoungJi's ex-CCM colleaque Areum lost 13 kgs while training in T-ara and is no longer with T-ara. It is sad that someone as talented and cute as Areum is no longer performing.

  7. They were in Japan together. BK performed at Tama Plaza on May 31 before the Kara 3 met the fans on June 1. Maybe they have already interacted since they were in the same company and perhaps shared the same flight (?). They don't look surprised when they met BK.

  8. YoungJi was criticized that she made the most interruption to the show... LOL, if you notice in their first performance 'Step', YoungJi suffered a wardrobe malfunction. Her right lower arm had a wired black glove that unravelled at the elbow and soon, she was like a ninja whipping a small black cord whenever she swing her hand. I don't know how she can continue to dance like that. Fortunately, nothing worse happened...like entangling another girl or hitting her on the face and breaking the rhythm. You can see it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=8IGmWXMFs4k

In the second peformance 'Lupin', the troublesome accessory was already removed.

  9. Here is a super close-up fancam video of their STEP performance in Tama Plaza, Japan.

If you click the Watch it on Youtube and adjust your Youtube setting to 720p and to a Full-Screen view, it's like they are performing right in front of you and you're there kind of feeling.

    Enjoy!

  10. Can some Japanese Kamilia please post a first witness account on the performance at Tama Plaza, Yokohama, Japan?

Why did YoungJi receive the most votes at that place?

Did some people confuse YoungJi for JiYoung and therefore shouted her name? Some were shouting for SeungYeon, Nicole and JiYoung.

Who made a big impression on you and why?

    Thanks.

  11.

As expected, Somin was again the best of them. :gemcheer:

Sojin really did bad, and I think it's obvious that she is desperately trying to use this last chance of becoming a star to prove a point to her parents. And she can't handle harsh comments either. Whether she actually wants to be a Kara member, or is only trying to prove a point of breaking through in show business, that's the question. I think she is chasing after a wrong dream here...

Youngji... uuhhmm... it would be a travesty if she would top the voting again. All she did was crying in the shadows. I mean, sure, she might be injured, but why not give her a shot at vocal parts? There wasn't anything wrong with her voice?

Yooji was noticeable because they gave her the spotlight in the episode. Otherwise, she would have been in the background like the rest of them really. Like that dude said to someone, there were girls who could have simply been absent and no one would notice... Seem more like background dancers.

I am more convinced than before that Somin should be the new member. It would take a lot to change that opinion now, although I am still hoping to see what Youngji can do, when she actually tries to sing and dance.

YoungJi has already performed Rock U with the other 6 members in Tama Plaza, Yokohama. You can see it in Youtube. Here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4WKQRKTRcA

You can judge for yourself how she fare.

  12. I think YoungJi froze in the studio in the first episode because the voice coach and DSP have higher expectations of her and gave her more pressure. The positive results can be seen in Rock U @ Tama Plaza performance where she was given ample singing time and did well with confidence to boot. In the first episode, she was in the hospital feeling sad and the members voiced their support. I think this is a DSP show-gimmick to get sympathy for YoungJi and also to produce a surprise element, that an underdog like YoungJi manage to to finish strongly for one of the two spots. Also, the members' crying scenes were probably faked and were a test for their acting abilities. This is probably to give some emotional moments to the show to garner sympathy and also drama. I appear sceptical but then, hey, this is showbiz, right? One cannot totally believe what one see is happening. Probably, they already have decided who is supposed to get into KARA from the very beginning and had just pooled in the other 5 contestants as a gimmick to get audience participation and to generate show income. If they have learnt their Jini lessons, they are looking for new members who will toe the line, are afraid to complain and will work very hard to get paid less than what they deserve and who will sign for a long contract term. Sojin and YoungJi being the oldest and at a make or break phase, will be selected and the other five to form a new group with a new name. It has been their intention all along to have a second girl group firmly anchored in the lucrative japanese market e.g. Rainbow, ex-Puretty.

  13. man...

stop comparing BabyKaras to Kara, they are individuals and do not need comparision

saying who is "the best" based on one appearance is totally meaningless

I agree with you that Nicole and JiYoung are unique and irreplaceable. The comparison is just a starting point. From there, you can track DSP's attempt to resuscitate KARA success and profitability. Looks is one of the selling points. I have also commented on dancing and vocal points. Karaholic will lose more members if it does not stay relevant and keep up with the times, bringing in fresh topics for discussion. If you think there are other 'best' points to judge, please let us hear more. I want to have some say on how KARA should go from here. DSP also wants to know what we think. I don't like DSP for the way they treated Nicole. But I respect Nicole for wanting to push herself to greater heights.

  14. Recent performance on 31May 2014. See video clip > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcVjRJSatLw

My observations after comparing their Rock U version with the original KARA Rock U version:-

    VOCAL

    YoungJi sings like Gyuri.

    ChaeWon sings like SeungYeon.

    YooJi sings like Hara.

    JaeKyung sings like JiYoung.

    SoJin sings like Nicole.

    DANCE

    Best dancer is YooJi.

    Next is YoungJi.

    LOOKS

More fitting to current KARA look as sexy and cool, less like a teenager, would be YoungJi. Next is SoMin.

    PERSONALITY

Humble and thoughtful - YoungJi (during the introduction, she was the only one who addressed the crowd 'mina-san' and waited for their response,

Clumsy and makes occasional mistakes with a tongue out (like Nicole) - YoungJi during the PARA-PARA dance of the GoGo Summer performance and also during the introduction. Her co-members were laughing at her mistake.

IMHO, I think YoungJi will be a suitable choice.

If a second member were to be selected from the 7, IMHO I think SoMin even though she looks like HARA. She can dance, sing and has the KARA look. She also has a humble, helpful and hardworking attitude.

Don't hate me for this post. I am sad with Nicole and JiYoung leaving but am just trying to get on with reality. I hope for a new KARA and an interesting future ahead. I will still support Nicole.
