  1. I noticed her tweet as well. Your translation seems correct. I originally thought it meant something else, but it seems I made a mistake. I thought 込めて referred to the verb 込む (to be crowded or packed) instead of the verb 込める (to include or to put into), which led me to interpret 送りたい as "want to say farewell" instead of "want to send out". All this made me think her tweet said something like "My heart is heavy. Right now, I want to say farewell...". Thanks for sharing!
  2. <--my face when I read the news. ...things had cooled off quite a bit in the last weeks, but it looks like a new chapter is starting. *sigh* The filing of an official lawsuit is very worrying.
  3. *sigh* The controversy had cooled off quite a bit, and I was even feeling a little bit optimistic about the whole situation, but it seems things continue to deteriorate... ...we'll just have to wait and see what happens, but the filing of an official lawsuit is very worrying.
  4. You, my friend, win. Thank you for this.
  5. You're welcome. I hope things continue moving positively. The five of them resuming activities together, is a very good first step; but it's still just a first step. We'll continue hoping for the best.
  6. As I mentioned over at the Discussionbox, this is why I say we should stay positive, yes, but to wait a little longer before we start celebrating: Link: KARA

  8. It's not my intention to be pessimistic; my intention is to be realistic: It's good that the girls will be continuing their current schedule, but such a decision shows no real progress in the negotiations. It's definitely a sign of hope, but I think it's way too early to be celebrating anything. We should wait to celebrate when future activities have been announced.
  9. Exactly. A lot of people are celebrating over the announcement that they'll finish up their current schedule. That's neither bad nor good news; if anything, it's a sign that no real progress has been made. I think we should hold our celebrating until future activities have been announced.
  10. Fighting! We're all still hoping for the best! I too also believe that the girls' involvement has not been proven. I strongly feel that DSP made some mistakes and that the parents are using those mistakes as an excuse for trying to escape DSP and jump to another higher-paying company. And I also feel that Landmark's stupidity in this fiasco is beyond imagination: all they wanted was to have a high-profile (high-paying) case against a rich company, and turned a simple conflict into an rampaging controversy by convincing the parents that they could indeed get their girls into a higher-paying company. I'm not saying I'm 100% sure the girls are innocent; I'm just saying I'm 100% sure there's still no proof that the girls are not innocent. Kara Fighting! Kamilia Fighting! Kara5ever!
  11. That's the same news all of us want to hear. By analyzing the news that we get to the best of our abilities, we try to get a feeling for how likely it is we hear those news. That's the only reason why we speculate about what's going on: because we want to hear the news that they will be staying together. The best way to support them is by being fair in our analysis of the situation. That implies analyzing what news we get, even if those news are about Landmark, DSP, and the parents. We can't know how to support them unless we understand their situation, so we have to analyze and even speculate a bit in order to know how to help them out.
  12. I wouldn't read too much into this. DSP is probably just trying to continue their Japanese schedule as normally as they can; much like URAKARA has continued airing, despite the conflict.
  13. Landmark is attacking DSP's reputation and claiming that all this situation is born of DSP's incompetence. By releasing the text messages, DSP is trying to prove that the actions of the Landmark side are not motivated by DSP's incompetence, but by some parents trying to make more money. I'm not standing on DSP's side (we still don't even know if those texts played any part in the decision to sue DSP); I'm just saying that DSP didn't do this "to prove a point". They did this to defend themselves against the claims by Landmark, by trying to establish that said claims are baseless and that the Landmark side's motivations lie elsewhere. No one here is trying to be pessimistic or going against Kara. We're just trying to be fair in our assessment of the situation; and being fair means considering all the different angles to a conflict based on the information that we get.
  14. It's definitely a difficult time right now... Lots of confusion floating around. We still don't know about whether or not those messages from "J" actually played a role in the decision to go against DSP, but it sure doesn't make the Landmark side look good... And we still have not heard much from the girls themselves... All we hear is what Landmark says they want... Kara5ever!

  17. The conflict is starting to get really messy...... Apparently DSP has indeed made some really dumb mistakes in management (not sharing monetary info with the girls' parents is a bit of a facepalm moment...). But at the same time, even if some of Landmark's claims are legit, Landmark keeps addressing DSP in inflammatory ways that only help to feed the fire (calling DSP "insincere" and "untrustworthy" instead of actually elaborating on the specific things DSP has done wrong). And on the other hand, the asking of an early contract termination can definitely be viewed as suspicious. It could be that the the girls and their parents genuinely want to end the contracts so that the girls don't have to deal with DSP anymore, but it could also be that the parents have already found another company to take the girls in... If indeed another company has poached Kara, and things continue to deteriorate then a 3:2 split is very likely............... :( Gyuri and Hara are not involved in the conflict, so DSP has no need of shortening their contracts, and Landmark has no right to claim such terminations. I'm not trying to be pessimistic, just trying to contemplate the realistic consequences of how the conflict seems to be developing. We have to hope for the best (the preservation of Kara5, despite which company they may work for) but we also have to be prepared for whatever is not the best outcome...
  18. Yeah, I just read this news... The worrying thing is how much the conflict is escalating......... Kara's fight is being used as a political statement by various sides, yet Kara seem to not even be involved in this conflict. The actual concerns regarding the girls seem to be taking a bit of a secondary role here. DSP and Landmark must resolve this sometime next week. Otherwise, the whole fight may spin out of control and turn into a really long conflict with far-reaching consequences, meaning the girls will have been dragged into a conflict of a magnitude they never desired..............................
  19. Again, all families are different. You say "the parents should then not be involved as their primarily role is of financial assistance". You're right. But just because they shouldn't doesn't mean they won't. Again, there is not sufficient evidence to suggest the girls bear any responsibility. It is definitely a possibility worth considering, but it's just that: a possibility. I'm not trying to say we shouldn't discuss about the girls being guilty; I'm saying we should discuss about it as a possibility; as something we do not know for sure.
  20. Not all families are the same. In some families, parents truly do impose themselves over their children. And it's not always that the children "allow" their parents to do so; sometimes children have no choice. You've mentioned that cultural values are at play in this whole issue with parents and their children. Let's take Nicole's case for example. Let's suppose (we're imagining here; I'm not saying that this is how it truly is) that her mother was the main driver behind the Landmark lawsuit and did so against Nicole's wish. Nicole, being a foreign-born Korean already has to face a considerable amount of discrimination. If on top of that she publicly went against her mother's will, she would be further discriminated against as a daughter that brings shame to her family. Some especially mean people could even say that such shameful acts are to be expected of someone born abroad. If Nicole opposed her mother, her life as an idol could probably cease to exist, or at the very least it would take a very profound wound. My point with this hypothetical example is that it is entirely possible that someone's parents got carried away and acted against their child's desires. And furthermore, those children could find themselves in a situation where it would be impossible to oppose their parents. All in all, the important thing is that there is yet not enough evidence to suggest that any of the girls could be guilty in this, and therefore I think we Kamilias should not engage in criticizing any of the girls. If evidence begins to surface that one or more of the girls might bear some of the guilt in the issue, then it would be perfectly fine to start speculating about who might have done wrong. But right now, there is no evidence to support the idea that the girls could be guilty.
  21. I never said the girls are not to blame. What I said is that it is too early to conclude such a thing. You may reread my previous post to confirm this.
  22. I believe that what Mr. Han mentioned about Seungyeon crying over the phone was that she was crying over how this situation had gone out of control. I don't think Mr. Han mentioned that she cried over the phone because of how DSP was treating her. Also, we still don't know how exactly this whole situation began in the first place, so I think it's a bit early to say that the girls didn't handle the situation correctly. We're still not even sure if this is what the girls wanted. Maybe the girls did want to handle this differently but someone else (one of their parents, or maybe Landmark) decided to jump the gun and press on in this way. And we still don't know the exact details as to how the parents got involved. Maybe the girls never really asked their parents to get involved; maybe the parents got involved on their own, independently of whatever the girls were doing. Sorry, I don't mean to rant or to argue; I just think it's premature to point fingers at any of the girls. Pointing fingers at DSP, Landmark, the parents, and others at this point in time is quite alright because these are the people that we have actually seen directly involved in this conflict; but with regards to the girls themselves we know almost nothing.
  23. I find it worrying that the conflict hasn't made much progress since it started........ especially in the last few days. It's never a good sign once conflicts of this nature begin to drag out..... I hope everything will be settled soon (sometime next week), otherwise it's very likely that this conflict will be for the long run....... I'm not trying to be negative or anything, I just wanted to express my personal concerns on the issue, and my hope that things will be resolved soon.
  24. Since you continue to attack me personally, and since you conveniently bring attention to some of my posts and ignore others, allow me to share with you one of those posts that you failed to bring into attention. It is not my intention to feed the troll, but since my reputation and my fidelity towards the girls is being put into question, I have no choice but to respond. Please, spare us your nonsense. Your attitude is making the situation worse and is detrimental to the girls' cause.
