I will be interested to see how we analyze the vote counting, vote weighting, and final scores.  In the past, there seemed to be a weekly vote total released by DSPKara for the immediately preceding week.  Then they or some fan would produce a total cumulative score for all the weeks.

  2. Youngji won? I don't even.

I hope she doesn't pull the same stuff with KARA that she did with Baby KARA.

I'm tempted to find some Japanese fan reactions are to this, to see if they are annoyed like some people are lol

I suspect it was the Japanese votes that contributed to Youngji's perfect global score. Japan is essentially Planet Youngji.

I didn't get the vibe that anyone here was "hating" on Young Ji.  I think some us are just frustrated that the actual voting for the show is not consistent with most Kamilia opinions.  If you want proof, just scroll up top and take at look at the poll numbers.  If fact, you could look up baby Kara poll numbers from any Kara related forum/thread and you'll notice the same discrepancy.  This is the problem DSP has on their hands.

Perhaps the idiots at DSP were naive and assumed that actual Kara fans would make up most of the final voters.  You know, the same fans who didn't want new members to begin with.  The same fans who went out of their way to put up banners all around the city, protesting the addition of new members.  Well, I've got bad news, DSP.  Those "fans" you pissed off, the majority of K-Kamilias, they are boycotting the Kara Project all together.  In fact, two of the biggest Kara communities in Korea won't even allow any message posts regarding the project, even after a new member(s) is chosen.  Their vowing to only support the current Kara3 (+ Cole & Jing), as if the new member(s) didn't exist.   So, DSP decides to give 70% of the final votes to "fans" (but really, general public), effectively destroying the notion of an audition program and, instead, creating a giant popularity contest.

    Good work, DSP   .

As a side note, I wish I could fly over to Korea and slap some sense into those K-Kamilias.  Look, I wasn't too happy about adding new members either, especially after seeing how well the three performed at the fan meetings.  But, what's done is done.  Money has been invested, deals have been made, this Kara Project is real and it's happening.  Just do your part as a Kamilia and pick who you feel would make the best addition.  Don't leave this decision up to which ever baby Kara member has the biggest fan club.

Can I just say that Young Ji winning the popular vote among voters who are not traditional Kamilias might be a good thing? Cause let's face it, KARA's popularity has been on the decline the past 1-2 years. We would not be having the situation where Nicole and Jiyoung jumped ship if KARA had maintained their peak popularity of 2010-2011 and we would not now be having to look for replacements for them.

Not only YoungJi but the other Baby KARA members are bringing in new potential fans who would not otherwise become Kamilias. These new fans for some reason or other never became attached to the old KARA members but are attracted by Young Ji, Somin and Sojin's fresh faces.

So if the Baby KARAs manage to attract new fans other than traditional Kamilias, that might prove the saving of KARA's long-term future as it would have effectively broadened the fanbase and provided an influx of new fans to support KARA as a whole. In fact, if the voting patterns of the show was the same as the voting on this poll, I would be worried as that would mean that this project was just attracting the same old shrinking fanbase and not reaching out to new fans.
