  1. Does anyone know whether the writing that has been visible on Seungyeon's right arm in some recent photos is a real tattoo or some temporary thing for some photoshoots? I mean pictures from 2016 summer, taken clearly after this thread and info has been written. Seungyeon doesn't seem to be the kind of type that would get tattoos, but I read some place that it is allegedly a real tattoo saying "She flies by her own wings".
  2. I could imagine them doing a 10 year celebration tour or something, if their agencies allow that. If they were smart, they demanded some kind of "KARA clause" on their new contracts which would allow them to do group activities outside their current companies. If they don't have such clauses, it will be a legal nightmare to sort it out between three companies + DSP who can simply deny the whole thing as KARA as a brand is under their control. But anyway, this statement does give some credibility to the view that KARA still exists as an inactive one girl (Youngji) group for the unspecified future. Hopefully they will get something together, as I was never able to see them live, sadly. I guess Youngji would be involved in the future regrouping, as she has nothing else to do than being Youngji at the moment. Gyuri, based on her comment, yes. Hara, maybe. Seungyeon, let's hope so!!!! As for the others, who knows. We can only hope that this will happen in the next 1-2 years, instead of being some nostalgia act 20 years in the future.
  3. Renewing/not renewing contracts, except for Youngji, who has a different situation. This happening the same time as Somin leaving April is were the rumors got started. Personally I always thought Somin should be in Kara, so this might be as good an opportunity as any to get make her a member, either by adding a new member or by replacing a member who wouldn't be willing to extend a contract. Then again, I'm not sure about Somin anymore. She used be very hardworking and pretty. Now that there's the whole issue of preparing for April debut over a year and then leaving after one month, and also the alleged plastic surgeries and all, I'm not so sure it would be beneficial for Kara to have her as a member.
  4. Is this the new trend? SNSD's Taeyeon was reported to be doing just the same last week. And there was also some fan movement to hunt down people posting negative stuff about Girl's Day. Not that taking actions is entirely wrong, but perhaps the best way would be to ignore those comments. Then again, I have no idea how widespread this thing is in Korea, and what kind of laws (if any) they have about moderating internet and so on.
  5. Doctor, doctor give me the news I've got a bad case of lovin' you No pill's gonna cure my ill I've got a bad case of lovin' you
  6. Yeah, Youngji is surprisingly talented in rapping. I'm always disappointed hearing Nicole's rap parts that were given to Hara, as they would be much better done by Youngji.
  7. Kara's Japanese albums have always been in Japanese (the Japanese re-releases of Korean albums being an exception). Also, Kara's Japanese albums have never had title tracks, and it seems that's the case this time too.
  8. Hopefully they come up with some more original dance moves than "shooting an arrow". It has already been used by SNSD at least in three songs, so seeing Kara do the very same would be disappointing.
  9. So is this album having the same songs in a different language than their Japanese release, or is this something completely unrelated, but just happening simultaneously?
  10. Where in the heck is the CD+Blu-ray version? I mean DVD... come on... Girl's Generation have Blu-ray bonus discs for their Japanese releases, I wouldn't expect anything less from Kara. In fact, I'm expecting more.
  11. Seriously, are they going to use that name??? I said somewhere jokingly that whatever their Japanese albums are going to be called, it's got to be "Girls" something. Apparently I wasn't wrong. Once or twice would be OK, but if their previous albums have been called Girl's Talk, Super Girl, Girls Forever, Fantastic Girls there's sure not much notable difference in the theming of those albums. Their Korean album names make much more sense. If they were called Girls' Generation or something, adding the word "girl" every time might make some sense, but this seems just unimaginative. Fortunately their music has been good... so far.
  12. I would gladly let Goo Hara buy stuff for me. As for the poll though, fake maknae, obviously.
  13. I have special editions of their Japanese full albums and all limited edition Blu-rays, but that's about it. Not sure if it's worth taking a picture, as those CD/Blu-ray covers are all over the Internet.
  14. Whatever it takes to get Somin to become a KARA member is OK in my book.
  15. Good one, but wouldn't a sequel to Break It be called Fix It? Although seriously they might try something more mature than a collection of 4-minute dance pop songs. I mean something along the lines of Janet Jackson's "Rhythm Nation 1814", which was almost a progressive album with all interludes and stuff, had some statements about the society, but also had some of the best dance pop hits of the 80's, and a couple of nice ballads.
  16. It's not worth waiting for that, as it's illegal, but otherwise it is worth your while to watch that. There are some BIG mistakes made with that, like already said there are cuts and bad editing. The worst editing actually happens during Happy Happy Love and Rescue Me, which totally sucks, as that's my favorite part of the show. But the latter half of the show isn't that bad. It's different from the WOWOW, but some changes there are even better, some are debatable. Like, when they start riding those carts to the end of the arena, in WOWOW version we see how Gyuri is about to lose balance when the cart moves, in Blu-ray version it is cut just few frames before that. Blu-ray version has more close-ups during some songs, and less Kara as a group. Which one you prefer, is a matter of taste. And we must not forget that WOWOW version is actually cut too. They don't cut performances, but there's an entire five minute segment of Kara talking to audience (and crying) cut out. So if you want to see that, you must get the DVD/Blu-ray. Of course the bonus disc is the real deal here, as the WOWOW broadcast didn't include even bits and pieces of that. It's not the best "making of" feature of all times, but it's worth watching and having, for things like seeing Youngji telling some Japanese guy how to spell her name on the drinking bottle. 연지じゃなくて영지です。
  17. Is that just a figure of speech, or something like the 4th Japanese Karasia tour in 2015? If it's just few Summergic TV performances, that wouldn't require that much work?
  18. I just watched the Blu-ray version, and I am disappointed. Not only are the duets cut out, but also Seungyeon's solo stage is cut (only the first song is included) and overall the editing sucks. The WOWOW broadcast is definitely the better version. The second half of the concert isn't so bad, but the first half is simply the director trying to find weirdest possible angles, like from the side of the stage, behind people's heads and whatever. Compared to the WOWOW version there are several minutes of KARA talking to audience included, which may or may not be the reason for cutting some performances to save space. Or maybe it was copyright issues. Or in Seungyeon's case, maybe that performance was seen a bit too... eh... dirrty for some viewers. What surprised me the most was that this is entirely new cut compared to WOWOW. I was expecting something like SNSD's 3rd Japan tour, where like 95% is the same, and only few closeups and such added. But there are hardly any same angles, which is otherwise nice, except that the director has chosen so bad angles. And often very weird choices... like the ending of "Happy Happy Love" where KARA turns their backs to audience, the angle that the Blu-ray has is actually from the stage, so KARA actually turns towards the camera... which completely destroys the choreographic point of that ending... Some closeups were nice though. Like seeing Gyuri's mic during her solo... it actually has "GYURI" written on it. Not hangeul, not katakana, but latin alphabet. I guess your mileage will vary on this one. Will rewatch it still, but overall, I will be going back to WOWOW version when I want to see this concert later on. Never seen Japanese releases with subtitles. Korean ones sometimes do. Like SNSD's "2011 Girls' Generation Tour" DVD has subtitles in Korean, Japanese, and Chinese... not in English though. And those subtitles have some spelling errors and stuff too, so it's not really much of a benefit to have them.
  19. Actually making the laugh track unnatural is part of its charm. I mean, how can anyone not be amused hearing the "audience" shout "wooooooo" when, for instance, Kramer enters the episode for the first time in Seinfeld. Laugh tracks are an artform as such, I think, and they can well be a reason for rewatching some show one more time. The problem with Roommate is that it is supposed to be a peephole into the normal life (yeah, right...) of those people. A laugh track can be distracting in that context, at least it makes the whole thing move one notch towards a scripted show, rather than being "reality". Personally I don't mind hearing it, as it often adds to the sarcastic on-screen texts that have been added during post-production, but it really feels somewhat unncessary, if observing the "real life" is supposed to be rewarding to the viewers as such.
  20. Youngji has been very entertaining to watch from the first episode. The problem with the show is that most of the episodes are simply dead boring. When they go out to do something, there may be a chance of something nice happening, but when those never-heard/don't-care guests come to the house and we are supposed to watch them for an hour, it really takes some effort to watch to the end of that episode. And even some of the cast have been disappointing. I mean like Sunny... she used to be a source of endless entertainment in many earlier (SNSD) tv shows. But in Roommate, she has barely been visible... and all the entertaining Sunny moments have been because of Youngji (aegyo battle, credit card incident, etc.). So the format of Roommate really needs some improvement, hopefully they keep some of the existing elements (mainly Youngji) and can have a format that works better. Maybe they should give those roommates some game-show-like tasks, even if that is not something they would do on their own (and as such, "unreal").
  21. The best option is to make the player region-free. Many players are as easy as sending a code on a universal remote, more tricky ones may need some tweaking otherwise. Almost all players can be made region-free though. Playing on a PC is not helping much (without making the computer region-free too), because computer DVD drives have region-locks too AND some media player software have their own region-locks as well. Of course it's possible that the discs don't have any region code at all... they are simply marked as R2, but they can, in fact, be R0. (At least all the Japanese music Blu-rays I have, are ABC, iow not region locked...) Anyway... about the music and video. I can't help feeling that this is somewhat disappointing. Kara is known for catchy rhythms and unique dance moves. Mamma mia wasn't perfect, but it had both. Step had both. The previous summer hit GoGo Summer had both. And so on. This one is nice, but it could be done by any other group really... At least Youngji seems to be a full member now, as she has more lines than some of the unnies do. Maybe the other new songs are better, but I can't see this one becoming a huge hit that is played for years to come.
  22. No, it's not just because of this, but also other things, such as Hara causing that embarassing scene on Radio Star when she was called a "dating idol". It's amazing how Hara has been in the business for years, but seems to be making just about every mistake one can make to draw attention to such matters. But anyway, as for the rumor, if there's any truth in it (fainting as a result of STD...? what??), the most likely person to be the idol in question is f(x)'s Krystal, who actually did faint last year, if memory serves, and as an American would probably be readier for sexual encounters than Korean-born idols.
  23. No, it really doesn't sound off-topic, as that is what the wording of the thread makes you think. And both groups seem to like each other, at least based on several tv appearances. Sadly what makes any musical collaboration impossible is the fact that they are not from the same company. Although a possible loophole there might be collaboration on the Japanese market, as both groups are working for Universal in Japan. Girls Talk, Super Girl, Girls Forever, Fantastic Girls... With the never-ending imagination that has been used so far when naming their Japanese albums, I think it's safe to assume that the next full-length album will have something about girls in the title...
