[NEW] Member Solo Activities Subforums! 03/11/2017

It was my first time to listen to the whole mini-album (thanks to the Youtube uploaders, sorry but that's the only way I can listen to it these days). It is definitely one of their best, even better than 'Day & Night' actually, at par with 'Full Bloom' in terms of diversity and energy. Covers all bases-cute, sexy, fun, sweet, sad. It's a very mature KARA, even the cuteness has a balanced feel to it. What's funny though is that Youngji does sound almost exactly like Nicole in her rap parts. It's also very surprising to think that they've already had 3 different composers, but they never lose their signature sound. This is an 8.5-9 on a scale of 1-10.

I salute whoever thought of debuting 'Cupid' at the Dream Concert. I don't think it would have as much a massive reception as it would have if they released it in the showcase.

I've been listening to the preview for the past few hours, and I'd have to say that musically, this would be better than Day & Night, and that was already a pretty solid mini-album. Just based on the preview, you know that they virtually covered all the bases, from strong beats to soft ballads, and all six songs sound like a KARA retrospective. For a group that has undergone so many changes, to be able to retain their unique sound is a feat in itself. Special mention goes to Youngji's rap in track 4, sounds almost like Nicole!

I just happened to see sales figures of Summergic, and in the individual member versions, Youngji came in last (not that big of a difference though). And then I re-watched that Gaonchart clip where she sang Raina's song, and the audience went wild. Somehow I'm inclined to think that maybe it's not the Japanese fans that made her win KARA Project, it's the Korean fans who stuck with KARA when the going got tough and saw something in her.

Youngji has the masukake/simian line. Some say it's related to Down's Syndrome, but in Asian palm reading, it's a rare and very auspicious line if you are a normal/healthy person. You could say that her fate really was in her hands, huh.
