    I love this episode. This was the best for me, so far. My most favorite part (of all the episodes so far) was the slumber party, the last portion. It was really moving to see them share their thoughts about their lives, because we often see celebrities with their polished facades, and here we see them without makeup, sharing their frustrations and worries, memories... and it reminds us that they're also human just like us. Suk Chun's reminder for them to be grateful for what they have, and the family they have in the house, makes me feel somewhat sad because right now I live alone, and only occasionally do I get to visit my family and relatives. I used to think that I'm a loner, and I spent most of my life thinking that way, but now as I grow older, I realized that while I may be a quiet person in real life, deep in my heart I enjoy being with families, friends and people, hearing and seeing laughter and smiles on everyone's faces. This is also part of why I love this show, because there's a sort of 'family' I look forward to every week. I'd also like to remind everyone here at KH that we are also one big family here, and seeing an empty house lately, I feel lonely. I understand though because we all have our own busy lives to live, but I hope you guys can drop by more often, because for some people like me, this site is home.

    Based on what I see, I can sense that, unlike most agencies in Korea and Japan, what DSP is doing is somehow keeping a group's income to themselves, and whatever the company's share is from that group's earnings is just for day-to-day operations. I think they do not redistribute funds to the other groups. So, for example, if KARA is earning a lot and very popular while Rainbow is struggling after the initial investment, DSP wouldn't normally siphon off money from KARA just to further promote Rainbow... This is just my guess and observation, so please don't get mad at me if I am wrong, but if this is more or less what they are doing, then I'm torn because in a way, it's just right that KARA keep their own money because they earned it, but then it's also not right that the other groups can't get sufficient promotion, because they are one family and have to support each other, and if Rainbow and A-JAX becomes as popular as KARA, then DSP will have more than one cash cow. DSP seems to be doing a lot of unusual things lately, and for me, this album is a step in the right direction.

    Well, like I said, slow songs/ballads are fine with me, as long as they are done right (or any song for that matter). I even prefer simple but well-done slow songs over overstuffed dance songs. My main issue is the quality of the music--somehow the instruments come across to my ears as rushed or generic, as though the arranger didn't have enough time to find sweet spots so the accents and bass lines sounded like they're just there to blend in, and in the end you feel like it's formulaic, or there's something missing. I'm still keeping my hopes up because these are just previews, and also keeping my fingers crossed that B2M intentionally didn't let us hear the good parts of the songs.

    I'm really sorry, Nicole. If I would base my opinion on the samples, I'd be really disappointed. Her voice has a fuller, richer sound now, almost sounds like Gyuri, and I really like how her voice can now stand alone, but there's something missing and it's not because we're used to hearing her in a group. It's because the music is somewhat empty and weak. I really didn't mind if the songs were mostly slow, but in contrast to Nicole's voice, the music was just so lifeless! I've listened to the video for 6-7 times now, and so far the only tracks that I think sound good are 'Innocent' and 'Joker'... the instruments sound too thin for a solo performer, and I also listened to the 'Day & Night' album preview just for comparison, and you'll clearly see the difference. I'm even wondering if the tracks were originally composed for a group but went to Nicole on short notice. If this is all Sweetune, I'm more disappointed in them than in Nicole. Her voice is ready, but the music just isn't. Sorry if I sound harsh, but it's because I expected a lot from her and to hear these samples is just so heartbreaking. I hope the full album (or even just the title track) will be able to erase this first impression.

    As a guy with 'pervy' tendencies, I don't find her photos done in bad taste, even those half-naked bed shots were pretty tasteful with just a little hint of 'naughtiness', it's like Jiyoung playfully sticking her tongue out... but I can understand if some of us don't like it. I personally don't mind them, but I also don't like how she's in a rush to mature and be taken seriously. I guess this is one of the reasons why she cried in Radio Star, and I know it's not my business to say anything about her decisions, but she really has to slow down because things may just happen so fast it could be over before she knows it.

    Jiyoung's overall look reminds me of a young Yukie Nakama (of whom I am a big fan). Nakama is a superb actress, can be cute and dorky or elegant and serious. It makes me wonder if Jiyoung is a closet otaku, how she is more Japanese than Korean even way back.

    ^ I'm reminded of that old documentary that followed her right from the start when she was still a student from a poor family... Look how far she had gone. Makes me realize how you should never give up on your dreams.

    Man... I'd love to see it in full. It looks as though despite the small venue, it still has that big concert feel to it. I also thought that the energy might be muted in the photos and some clips that have been shared so far, but it looks like the girls are still so full of energy. I'm pretty sure it's back to the Budokan or Tokyo Dome next year.
