  1. I would totally vote on Line, but I got a new phone last year and it won't let me login. Whenever I have it send the text to my phone, I never receive it.

It should let you log in with your e-mail if you set it, that's the only way I've been able to keep logging in after I take the app off the phone I've been using to vote.

I voted.  It made me select a country first, and there was no United States even though I'm on the U.S. Line.  So I picked the first Korean name, whatever it was.  I got a "Caution" and a whole bunch of Korean.  I voted anyway, and it seems to have gone through.  I'm so excited, and wish we could have watched online streaming.

Like I pointed out before, it's only areas in South Korea listed (the other accounts only ask gender and age group). The first one on the list is Seoul (Incheon second, etc.). The caution is just noting that you can see the results live after polls are closed and the votes are tallied up.

  2. I was going to post the new vote counts, but looks like ZenChai got to it first :P It's funny though how pretty much none of the standings changed overall, meaning the final show's votes will be rather important in any possible spot shifting, if any. I imagine KARA themselves will even have some good things to add that might sway votes in the favor of what the trio wants.

For the streaming thing, if MBC is still the same with their YT streams as they were a year ago, they normally don't make the stream in question until 30-60 minutes prior to airing in Korea. It wouldn't be a bad idea to make a MBC+ account though just in case they don't use YT and no one else streams it. I plan on going on maybe thirty minutes prior to the show start though, mainly to hunt down MBC's channels and DSP's to make sure there is/isn't a stream from any of them. I also plan on voting for this episode, and seeing as Somin is a good 200+ votes in first, I'll continue doing what I did the last couple of weeks (re: Sojin votes for all five accounts) :>

Regardless, it'll be a bit saddening to see the show end, but on the plus side it means KARA can start on preparing for comebacks, and the girls who don't make it could start preparing for their debuts (or re-debuts for Siyoon and Chaekyung).

I also want to do something in the odd case that Somin and Sojin are the two that join, but not 100% sure on what yet... I'll think of something likely before the show maybe. For now I'm going to try this sleeping thing.  :lazy:

  3. If someone wants to vote, yes, it's live, so KARA's LINE Official account gonna send you a message when the show starts, but when? You need to check your time zone and compare with KST or South Korea, for example, mine (Peru) is GMT -5 and South Korea is GMT +9, so there are 14 hours of difference, GMT is 0 so depends of your time zone.

This was why I said "some of us are getting up early" in my original post about the live voting, as the part of Canada I'm in is exactly 12 hours behind South Korea, Japan, etc.

Meaning, when the show is airing in Korea at 6PM their time, it'll be 6 in the morning for me (which is much too early, but given the fact that I've been sick and sleeping poorly the last while it's not as much of an issue as it normally would be :teary:).

For me personally, I could fill out any fields just to vote.  Statistically among aggregate figures, I think that the Kara (and Baby Kara) performers, as well as the business people, would like to know the demographics of the fan base.  While I'm not sure how much the male vs. female fan percentage really matters as applied to a singing group's fan base, I do think that knowing the international following of a performing group or of individual performers would be of interest.  That information probably leads to the possibility of world tours.  I know that I am interested every time I see an Asian pop music group come to the U.S.  However . . . as to my vote, the country remained blank because I can't read Korean.  And even Google Translate did not offer any choices that looked like anything on the Line country list.  Maybe the U.S. was not on the list.  I tried "North America" and that didn't work either.

KARA's Korean LINE only lists locations in South Korea from the locations I had read on the list. And, because you mentioned it on an earlier post: you have to vote on their other LINE accounts if you want more than one vote (there's five total).

Lastly: someone should make a photo edit with Somin and Sojin with the rest of KARA. Seems like a much better combination to me, and I'm hoping they're the two who get in. I also plan on using all my votes on Sojin, unless for some reason Somin loses her lead (in which case I'll split them between the two girls).

  4. I'd gladly take jpgs and stuff, but most of my CDs are at my mom's place right now.

I'll try and list most of what I remember having though:

    K-pop:
    - KARA - PANDORA
    - SNSD - I Got a Boy (Tiffany edition)
    - Taetiseo - Twinkle
    - T-ARA - Temptastic

    J-pop:
    - Hikaru Utada - all of her studio albums except for "Precious", "First Love" and "Deep River" (also missing her single collections and single CDs, most are the Canadian pressings of her albums)
    - T-ARA - all of their Japanese singles released before "Jewelry box" (first press edition for all, Type C for the first two and Type A for the rest)
    - Saori@destiny - Domestic domain

    Other stuff:
    - Fifth Harmony - Better Together (regular edition)
    - Paul McCartney - Chaos and Creation in the Backyard (Japanese edition)
    - Sean Lennon - Half Horse/Half Musician (Japanese edition)
    - Crush - Here
    - Radio Radio - Cliché hot
    - Other stuff probably not coming to mind right now

tl;dr: Japanese imports and a very small K-pop collection :<

  5. Don't forget "who will be the members of KARA"

I always figured it was going to be more than one girl joining from the start, given KARA was a five member group prior to Nicole and Jiyoung's parting. The fact that they still haven't specified a number though does mean the possibility of KARA becoming a six member unit is still there, but I still think it's more likely that there'll only be two added. Which is fine and all, I'll probably just be a hint disappointed if Sojin isn't one of them for like a week after the announcement  :gemcry:  I think the only thing that won't bother me is Somin being in the group, since I had a feeling after the first couple of episodes that she was going to be leading the votes to begin with, given she's the strongest member there who also fits the "KARA image" and is close enough to their ages.

As you can see, the widest gap is between So Jin and Chae Won, the narrowest, So Min and Young Ji.

We still don't have the votes for the 5th episode, so that would be a big game changer in case there are movements in rankings.

Episode five is likely going to shift the top three around at best, and given Somin is highest in votes even though she placed first only once so far tells me her total is probably going to keep her at the top. So really, it'll likely just shuffle Youngji and Sojin at best (I don't see Chaewon or Chaekyung gathering enough votes to get pushed into the top three, and Siyoon and Yuji are so far behind in votes that they're pretty much going to stay as the bottom two).

  6. I noticed this started popping up on the KARA Project site's voting section.

If this is how the final votes are going to be done, well... I guess some of us are getting up early lol :< And it's nice to see that KARA themselves is indeed having say in the final member choice(s).

That said, just out of curiousity I added up the four weeks of voting already on site, and this is what it came up with:

    Somin - 31461
    Youngji - 30805
    Sojin - 29308
    Chaewon - 24116
    Chaekyung - 23146
    Siyoon - 19812
    Yuji - 18489

    Assuming week five leaves this same order, there's a rather obvious Baby KARA who is going to be in the group, and two who are going to be fighting for the second spot (unless the top three all join) ;-;

  7.

iand someone also pointed out that, the messages from those who are "eliminated" (Yooji, Chaekyung, Shiyoon) basically just thanking their fans compared with other baby kara's messages that said they will work harder, please watch over them etc. well, i don't know if this means something or just pure coincidence... :phew:

I was under the impression only two were eliminated, not three. I do notice Yuji and Chaekyung in particular have more of a "farewell"-type ending as opposed to "I'm going to try even harder" like the other girls do. Siyoon's does also have a similar feel to their two messages though, so maybe that does indeed mean something... or she just made a more confusing message than she should have :P

Either way, I was hoping translations for all those messages would show up, thanks for posting them :>

  8. -If that's the case, then the thing about them removing 2 contestants would be pointless, or is that simply a rumor and nothing more? Still, you can't deny that the girls know more than what they show on air.

It wouldn't be pointless, as DSP likely knew already what two girls would likely not fit, and also had at least three weeks of voting data to go by as well. I'm sure that's more than enough to decide on at least two girls to not send onto the live finale.

And like noted above, it was made rather obvious that Yuji is one of the two girls who aren't going onto the live stage. Maybe she'll appear in some form, sure, but she's officially out of the standings as a possible new KARA member.

  9. So, the showcase was for elimination and they continue put the 7 on votes to keep this as a secret?

If you go to the end of the episode, it looks like Yuji and Chaekyung are the two specifically being hugged by the other members, so those are likely the two who are gone (or at the very least Yuji, since they seemed to make it a bit more obvious in her case). Either way, voting polls typically open before the show airs, which might be why they kept it a secret and are allowing votes for all seven still.

  10. Let's be brutally honest here. I think Yooji has been the last in every voting and is the last in this thread's votes too. I think introducing her in any way in any group is going to be so hard that it's almost impossible. They could always try to argument that one needs to be talented just to be a Baby Kara. But in reality, just how much value does someone who's been last in every voting bring? Absolutely none. If they take all of the rest as a group, maybe that works out somehow. But otherwise it seems that joining this show was a deathblow career move for Yooji.

Not really, being on KARA Project has given her enough exposure that she could likely debut in some form afterwards and be fine. More specifically, she's had consistent high ranks in the expert votes, so clearly she has some potential if they're voting for her. Like others have noted, the reason why fans are likely not giving her votes (and as such why she's typically in last place) is because she's too young and doesn't look like she'd fit into a group like KARA. This is even why I never bothered to vote for her (on LINE or in this thread's poll), because I agree with that notion, and think she'd be better off either being a soloist (as she has enough talent to stand on her own to me) or being in a new group where she might fit in better.

    Anyone happen to know though if episode five has been posted anywhere (torrent or on YT) with Japanese or English subtitles? I tried watching last week's episode without any subtitles initially and it just feels weird to not really understand much of what's going on in terms of the on screen text and what the girls are saying... ;-;

Also, I'm happy to see Somin and Sojin are the top two this week, it makes me feel like my LINE votes didn't go to waste :3

  11. I'm still hoping that the final votes will be just for show, and that somehow, DSP and Kara have already chosen who they want in.

I'm hoping that DSP themselves haven't chosen what Baby KARA girls should join, because that ruins the whole idea of voting for one or two new KARA members (both in terms of expert and fan votes). I wouldn't be surprised if the girls themselves though have an idea on who they'd personally prefer to have as new groupmates.

  12. I didn't get the vibe that anyone here was "hating" on Young Ji.  I think some us are just frustrated that the actual voting for the show is not consistent with most Kamilia opinions.  If you want proof, just scroll up top and take at look at the poll numbers.  If fact, you could look up baby Kara poll numbers from any Kara related forum/thread and you'll notice the same discrepancy.

A lot of Youngji fans seem to stick to YT from what I've seen. I have no problem admitting I already have a bias within Baby KARA (Sojin ftw :3), and I have no problem criticizing her or the other members. Why? Because by logic, it is a competition, so naturally one is going to want to critique their performances, etc. It's for that reason that Youngji to me seems the least prepared, and shouldn't be put into KARA unless she shows within the next few performances (re: before the July 1st stage) that she's capable of much better work than she's done in the past two. Given she was out for the first two shows, that should be enough motivation for her to work more harder than the other girls because she was lagging behind. Instead, she looks to be on a lower level than the other six, and I don't see her being well off in the group because of it. Maybe if KARA had just debuted within the last year, someone like Youngji would not be so bad because she would be as much of a rookie as the other members and be able to improve with them. Gyuri, Hara and Seungyeon have almost ten years of experience though, making it more plausible to put in someone who has worked hard to try and get into the group (yet still has a decent popularity because it'll be fans that'll be hurting KARA most of all if they're not happy with the new additions).

    Also:

Because really, in the long run, DSP only has to consider three main factors here:

    -Gyuri, Hara, and Seungyeon's choice

-Attitude and behavioral issues of the potential winners

    -Japanese votes

    If Japanese votes are one of the three things they should take into account, then Chaekyung should already be picked lol :P But I do vaguely recall that the trio will have some form of a say (makes sense because the winner(s) will be who they have to work with as group members), but part of me thinks their choice might not hold as much weight as it should ;-;

  13. No you must have some sort of mobile on you.. or else you can't vote!

That's disappointing. I made an account specifically to vote, but my own iPhone doesn't support LINE (it can only go up to iOS 4, and LINE needs iOS 5 >_<). Guess I'll be borrowing a phone again to do so :<

I'm still rooting for shiyoon and somin but the possibility for shiyoon to join seems to grow smaller and smaller. They don't even show her that much. Mainly it's her in the background. If she doesn't get in then DSP better debut a new girl group with her in it because I want to see her (re)debut and be (actually) successful. Shiyoon ♥♥

Somin is awesome as always :D

I'm personally under the impression that the girls who don't make it into KARA will end up debuting after in some form or another. I mean, I don't see what DSP would have to lose in having another girl group (especially since they're pretty much well-known at this point).

  14. Whoever attracts the most fans should be the winner. Who cares that much about expert votes?

I don't agree with this. Yes, letting fans have a say serves a purpose, because DSP can look at that and see who is popular among viewers; however, expert votes are equally important because the most prepared girl should have just as much of a chance to get in as the most popular one. Overall, the best girls in Baby KARA to pick would be the ones who are still high in popularity with the fans and have shown to the expert poll that they're ready to jump into a veteran group like KARA. The only thing I hope is that they pick two girls and not one, just because it might feel awkward to be that one newbie in a group.

That said (and unrelated to the above), does anyone know if voting is possible using the PC version of LINE?
