Regarding the newest member Heo Young Ji, DSP Media said, "As our artist, we will work hard to show her good sides and do our best to help Young Ji grow."

Park Gyuri, Han Seung Yeon, and Goo Hara′s contracts with DSP Media will come to an end on February 2. As the three members decided to search for a new agency, rather than renew their contracts, KARA′s disbandment is now official. KARA made its debut in 2007 and gained immense popularity along with Girls′ Generation and Wonder Girls. Their ′butt dance,′ in particular, was hugely popular, leading them to become a representative K-pop girl group in Japan as well. However, with the expiration of Nicole and Kang Ji Young′s contracts in 2014, the team was the on the verge of disbandment.

At the time, DSP Media brought in new member Heo Young Ji to join the original three members, Park Gyuri, Han Seung Yeon, and Goo Hara, creating a four-member group. However, with the expiration of the original three members′ contracts, the group′s disbandment became inevitable, leading to the official announcment of KARA′s disbandment.

As a result, KARA will be disbanding after nine years.

KARA′s agency stated, "We want to thank all the fans who showed love and support for Park Gyuri, Han Seung Yeon and Goo Hara for the past 9 years," before adding, "Please continue to support them in the future."
