albeitalways
Why does every Kpop artist want to go to Japan? Simple. There is money. Japan is where the money is. Unlike Korea, where piracy levels are high, Japan's CD sales are still going strong. And that means better profit. Tbh, I don't think they'll make it in the US. Girl groups and boy bands died a long time ago, if you don't count the Pussycat Girls Danity Kane is not counted since they're short-lived and already disbanded. Plus, I hate to be frank but to the average American, the pop music in Asia is outdated by their standards. I think Kara can make it to Japan, provided they are given adequate training with Japanese language lessons. Their current image would fit very well with the girl group scene in Jpop. However, like I've always said, cutesy isn't for the long run. They need something different and unique to make them stand out. But I'm confident they will. And if DSP ever decides to promote them in Japan, they can benefit from the help of their SS501 sunbaes.
shinsengumi
i dont think it would be wise, but if they were to actually do it, i guess japan and then china would be first to create their popularity and then they can conquer the asian region, but honestly i think they can only conquer the asain region and no where else.... I hate to say this, but like the others mentioned, they should really be building there rep up within their own country before thinking of doing anything else. To me, their fanbase seems to be weaker than some of the competition(s) they have. Namely SNSD. If they were to debut in the US, they would ultimately have to face-off with other debuting artists like the WGs, which i don't think is a very smart thing to do. Over in Japan, they already have countless of talented artists there. It's also a disadvantage when you don't know the local language.
BrainyChick
I think they need to focus more on there career in Korea... no offense but I think they have they make themselves BIGGER at the place they are now rather than going somewhere else and starting over. hao
Don't really thought so far for them so right now they should concentrate on what they are doing! But yea, why not oversea..
karaholicsg
Just roughly tabulated the results so far, 44 Korea 22 Japan 8 China 4 US 1 Australia 1 Thailand Whatever I feel won't change their future, so I won't bother thinking >.<
Kasazn
I agree with most of you. They should really grow in Korea first rather then venturing into other countries. Japan can be their first stop, maybe. Kara's fan base is growing and I hope they will someday be big enough to challenge the giants! Should Kara change their image to expand and be successful in other countries? I'm having a hard feeling on this. In my opinion, they should not. They just need more nice, catchy songs. Songs that people want to hear and get addicted to.
saix.lenneth
KARA should take over asia first, like china or japan next to korea. hehe.. Still, just like SNSD, I don't like the concept of them going to the US...
LittleDoggie
Believe it or not, they will, not it's not the time yet They will debut in other countries eventually
KARAandME
they should debut in japan~ but i don't know if they have japanese fan or not. maybe after their 3rd mini album, DSP might start to think about it :]
llindvior
I think they should be focusing more on local first, they just become popular recently, although I'd really want them come to Hong Kong one time >.<!, When SuperJunior came to Hong Kong for a show, my female friends were like crazy to death, LOL! Bushido
They still not that big in Korea so they need to focus there first.
cnv
I think they still have got a long way to go in Korea. So, overseas might be a far future.
Chelly
^ Agreed. I hope they don't plan to venture overseas actually.
greenapplejelly
I hope not because they won't be able to make it. DSP has poor promotions and also many Asian artists (except WG) are having trouble right now. KARA is also cutesy and the US doesn't like cutesy. :x
misuran
I would love it if Kara comes to the USA to perform for those of us who are into k-pop. Although I know they won't ever hit my city, I would travel to Cali to see them perform.
Storm121693
i think they could make in Japan because Japan has idol groups with cute concepts. but to be honest i don't think they could make it in the us. it's because of their concepts. we mostly have hip hop and rock or something. Intense_Motion
I think they have a high chance in succeeding in Japan. In Japan, they like the cutesy girl groups and Kara are so cute. <3 And didn't Hara win some poll for which girl does Japan men like?
nZk
I feel that they should stay in South Korea, rather than moving else where. Maybe just some promotional activities in other countries.
Celine
I agree that they should stay in Korea for awhile. They should also do promotional activities oversea too to attract more fans. I really hope that they would come to Singapore.
tetrismaster
ya i agree. i think japan is a realistic market for Kara, but probably not the US.
deadlyraven
Whats the rush of sending them off to overseas.. Since they just debut not long ago.. I find that Kara should stay in Korea and further expand their fanbase rather then sending them overseas.. Moreover sending them overseas may not be a good idea as not all countries love the 'cute' image them Kara portrays. Sending them to Japan = more competition for Kara. Competitive is good but not too much of it.. I guess it would be best if Kara gets more fan in Korea first rather than going to Japan. Well, guess their trip to Japan wouldnt be much of a change though.. Just expressing personal opinion lol.
CaramelLatte
actually i hope they do stay in korea... but just like others...they will probably go perform in japan lol that means Nicole needs to learn another language LOL
