wow! i finally found this thread!

i've been in need of this thread for me to talk about hara's voice

so hara gets bashed for her singing, her looks, and almost everything she does.

here's my problem though.

she's compared to yoona from snsd b/c both are just the faces of the group

and people think they both suck at singing.

i'm not gonna delve into yoona's singing here b/c that's not relevant

but i really dislike it

when people say that hara can't sing.

or that she sings worse than a 4 year old

or that she doesnt deserve to be a singer

or that she is only popular for her looks and thats why she's even in Kara

i dislike it because its all untrue.

sure, hara lacks much more in the singing department

and she is nowhere near one of the best singers u ever heard

but its not like she cant sing...

people hear her one little clip singing because i'm a girl.

i heard that clip too and i love hara but she did sound sucky in there

but i also know because i went and searched for hara singing live for other songs

and especially when she sings in i am(ing)...

she CAN sing and i wish taht people would just see that.

i dont know why DSP decides to give her less and less lines

and i really really dislike that because i want to her more of hara singing

but i just dont think its true.

honestly, hara has improved a lot and she has a nice raw voice.

she needs to improve, of course.

but its actually one of the nicest out of all of the members.

i dont know. hara is not like celine dion when it comes to singing

but its not like she sucks more than a normal 4 year old

I think she got quite big room to improve compare to other member

In the second performance she just sitting there and lip sync...

She got a good voice and singing is not her strenght but after so many album i guess she haven't improved much..

Not bashing~~~just My opinion/views

People say this MR is fake/not reliable but wintermelon3 have been doing mr for 1 year+??

Personally as a huge fan I accept the fact that Hara Goo is not a strong singer, singing is her weakness. I like the uniqeness of her voice especially in their No.1 performance, but I guess on a musical level it's not appropriate/good enough? I say, please give her more lessons and for her to be more confident when singing - it's the only way for improvement. But hey every single person out there has their strengths and weaknesses, Hara's weakness = singing/etc, yet her strengths are dancing, modeling, variety's, and making people laugh. Get the point?

Her voice is definitely the lowest in the group but in a good way. I like the way she sounds in STEP (mainly) and other songs that she has sung the low notes for

It's not that Hara can't sing, but it's because her voice is quite fragile. I notice it when Hara speak, she has this fragile-way-of-talking, don't know how to explain. Maybe that's why she didn't get a lot of lines

Another reason is that...she didn't train her vocal enough.The girls are very busy these days, going from one show to another. On top of that, Hara got endorsement deals left and right. Which means less time practicing. Even when they're on hiatus, Hara's still busy with university stuff and City Hunter, not to mention being in spotlight all the time.

Anyway, compared to before, she's definitely improved, albeit slightly. I'm unimpressed by STEP, but when they perform Date (my boy), Hara sound acceptable there.

The problem is also the kind of line DSP gives to her in KARA's songs. Her voice is already too much low and then DSP gives to her lower lines (like STEP and DATE, the two songs they performed in comeback stages, it didn't helped Hara's image, tbqh), so we can't really hear she singing on lives and haters use it to bash her e_e

I think her singing skills are good in "Strawberry" and "Follow me", there's no lower line to her in these two songs. I know, singing is her weakness, but I hope she improve more in the future

I also hope DSP gives to her good lines in "Winter Magic", since it seems be a ballad, that's a good oportunity.

i really like hara's voice but i just with other people can see and hear it from her too

her voice is just soo..pure[?] and soothing. she can have like a super powerful voice if she worked on it more though, i just think she's scared and holds back. but yes, my hara can definitely sing it may not be AS HIGH as the other members, but she sings just as well as them
