Honestly, I've always seen SY as the lead and Gyul as the main.

To me, the main vocalist is the one with powerful vocals and adlibs, whilst the lead has a sweeter, but still considerably powerful voice.

That's how I've always seen. I won't let anyone else convince me otherwise. Haha.

In Kara the girls usually gets an equal distribution for the the lyrics to sing. But their voices blend and mix with each other so well that I have a bit of trouble differentiating them apart.

actually i love how kara doesnt have that clear distinction

all the members take turns to shine and do their best

rather than push the responsibility to one person (;

but i heard that

the main vocal is the person with the best voice

but the lead vocal is the person who's voice sounds the best but voice isnt as great as the main vocal

(example: in DBSK, the lead vocal is jaejoong and the main vocal is junsu)

One of the things I love most about KARA is that they don't really need the differentiation between main/lead/backup vocalist like the other groups do. They can divide up parts fairly equally because there's no need to 'hide' the voice of a member who doesn't have the singing chops.

For what I know, main vocal is the 1 who sing the most, as they "build" the main melody of songs, when lead vocal is the 1 who hold responsibility for all special parts (high notes in chorus for example)

Though i can't see a lot of differences in Kara, all of them sing frequently

well.. i don't know either..

but it really makes sense

i think i agree with MrT
